The PADI Wreck Diver Speciality is by far and away one of our most popular PADI speciality courses.
The PADI Wreck Diver Speciality certification could have been tailormade for the Scuba diving in Murcia, you can comfortably navigate around sunken wrecks in a safe and knowledgable manner and what better place for wrecks than diving in Mazarron and the surrounding areas. The coastline here is littered with sunken wrecks both large and small. The most renowned of these wrecks is Dragaminas Nalon (a 1920's US Navy Coastal Minesweeper Class PVZ-51 and later P-51) which was sank as an artificial reef on the 6th of June 1999.
Firstly let us explain what is entailed in the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty, you will learn about planning, preparation, organization, procedures, techniques and the problems and hazards of wreck diving, these skills are not just endemic to wreck diving in Murcia but are the foundations of safe wreck diving where ever you are. We will go through the use of lights, air supplies, other special equipment considerations as well as the use of penetration lines and reels. We also go through emergency procedures and other procedures that are used when encountering low light and visibilty.
During your course you will do 4 wreck dives from a boat, each one of the wrecks we will be diving in Murcia will be different giving you the opportunity to see a variety of wrecks in different states of decomposition (from almost new to very old) and positioning (upright, upside down etc). We will also get the chance to see how the wrecks become quickly colonised with various forms of sealife.
