Imagine the scenario you and your dive buddy are diving with only minimal navigation skills, will you really feel confident at getting back to where you started from?. The answer is probably no
With the Underwater Navigation Speciality under your belt then the answer is probably yes.
The underwater Navigation Speciality is one certification that will get you respect on the dive from other divers (after all, you could well be the one to guide everyone back to the starting point). Your dive buddys will feel as though they have been in good hands. Lessen the chance of abandoned dives due to being lost, less physical effort under the water due to confusion as to where you are which gives you the payback of reduced air consumption thus ensuring longer dive times.
3 Open Water dives in and around the bay of Mazarron, During these dives you will cover distance estimation using both time and kick cycle techniques, correct compass usage and natural/compass navigation to navigate to predetermined courses. There is also a Knowledge Development session. Knowledge development is based on the self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by an academic session with your PADI Instructor this ensures a full understanding of Underwater Navigational theory..
