 The pre-requisites for the PADI Scuba Diver course are that the student is a minimum age of 16 and has a signed medical statement by a licensed doctor declaring fitness to dive. A PADI Scuba Diver can then qualify for the full PADI Open Water Diver certification by contacting a PADI instructor who will then arrange a further 2 confined water modules, 2 further knowledge reviews, 2 further Open water dives and the final PADI exam. Which can all be completed in as little as 2 days.

PADI Open Water Course

 The PADI Open Water Diver course is the most popular entry level dive course in the world, no other dive agency certifies as many Open Water Divers as PADI does. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is a full diving certification. The PADI Open Water Diver certification is recognized worldwide. To become Open Water certified, you now have two options to complete the knowledge review requirements.

  • Option 1: Complete 5 knowledge development sessions using the latest PADI Open Water Crew kit with your PADI instructor here at Subaquamundo.
  • Option 2: Sign up for PADI e-learning. PADI provide e-learning online.*
  • Whichever option you choose both involve knowledge review questions, quizzes and a final exam.

* A PADI elearning fee is charged by PADI at $120.00 per person and is non transferable.

 Regardless of which learning option you select the waterskills portion of your course is the same. During 5 confined water training modules split over 2 days, your instructor will demonstrate scuba skilla and then you will practice and master these diving skills. during the course you will also make 4 open water dives at dive sites in the Bay of Mazarron.

 The PADI Open Water Crew Pack (yours to keep, includes PADI Manual, DVD, Logbook and Recreational dive planner) is provided by Subaquamundo when you choose to take the full course of PADI Scuba Diver or PADI Open Water Diver with us. We regret we cannot supply Crew Packs to referal students or students who have opted for PADI e-learning.

 All course fees include Instruction by a PADI professional, Kit hire, Air refills, Boat fees, PADI certification fees and Crew Packs (where applicable). PADI Scuba divers taught elsewhere who are upgrading to PADI Open Water with us must provide their original Crew Pack or purchase one from us.

 It is possible under the PADI learning system to learn some of the skills in one country and complete the course in another this is called the PADI referal system, check your local area for PADI centres that do student referals and finish the course of PADI Open Water Diver with Subaquamundo here in Mazarron.
