Now you have the PADI Open Water Diver certification under your belt you may be wondering whats next or maybe you have it already planned theres a deep dive you need to do or a wreck you need to see, what is for sure is that to progress up the PADI tree you need to gain more skills in specialised areas of diving.
This where the PADI adventures in diving course gives you an insight into full blown PADI speciality courses. By choosing the 1st PADI Speciality dive out of any 3 PADI speciality courses relevant to the area where you decide to take the course you can earn the title of PADI Adventure Diver while at the same time seeing if each speciality you choose is for you.
It doesnt end there though, you can actually choose any 2 of the 1st dives from any speciality course and as long as you choose Underwater Navigator speciality dive 1 for dive 3 of the PADI Adventure Diver course then upon certification you are qualified to take further training for the PADI Rescue Diver Course which as any diver will tell you is the most enjoyable and rewarding of recreational diving courses.
The PADI Adventures in Diving certification does not have to be done in the same country or with the same instructor, you can actually do each of the 3 dives when ever and where ever you like for the first 2 dives each PADI Instructor will sign a PADI referal sheet once you complete the 3rd dive your PADI instructor will then qualify you as a PADI Adventure Diver. Again this is an excellant way of gaining further skills and experience in limited time situations or when travelling.
Upgrading from PADI Adventure Diver to PADI Advanced Open Water Diver is very straight forward all you have to do is a further 2 adventure dives (again these dives are dive 1 of your chosen PADI speciality) the only strict criteria is that out of the final 5 dives for PADI Advanced Open Water 2 of the 5 dives must be the PADI Deep Dive and the the PADI Navigation Dive.
